Our client is a tier II, multi-line, multi-location brokerage firm, licensed across Canada.

Role Overview:

The Vice President, National Marketing, will be the Commercial Property/Casualty technical resource for the staff.  This VP may also oversee the Commercial Claims, periodic complex Personal Lines claims, and corporate Errors & Omissions.

Primary Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Contact person for difficult placements or technical knowledge or advice;
Provide coaching and mentoring on technical issues and conduct file audits to ensure quality results for all our stakeholders;
Contribute to the organizational and financial strength by assessing industry trends and changes (such as coverages, products, people movement, etc) and developing strategies that will benefit our organization, our clients and all business partners;
Conduct regular meetings with our insuring partners to ensure quality, underwriting integrity, business development opportunities;
As a member of the Executive team, will work closely with fellow colleagues to develop business strategies;
Market and service an assignment of large complex commercial accounts;
Compliance and support of corporate guidelines, processes and procedures;
Be a business partner with other departments to foster a positive team working atmosphere which provides our clients and insurers with a comprehensive experience;
Instill professional relations with clients, prospects, insurers, vendors and colleagues with the ability to overcome barriers and provide solutions to problems;
Provide advocacy to our clients in a claims or coverage dispute while balancing relationships between insurers, claim vendors, legal and accounting professionals, governmental and licensing authorities;
Participate and attend industry and/or client functions as required;
Qualifications and Skills Required:

Extensive knowledge of technical aspects of all Commercial property/casualty products and resources within Canada as well as Global placements
Extensive understanding of insurers’ target markets and products
Ability to explore situations dispassionately to overcome barriers
Collaborate and execute solutions that meet the needs of all parties in the best collective manner possible
Ability to positively guide change and strive toward efficiencies while maintaining professionalism and quality
RIBO license mandatory, and the ideal candidate will have insurance educational designations such as CIP, CRM, CAIB or related work experience
Competence with various forms of technology, notably broker management systems & reports (ie TAM and PolicyWorks), Microsoft Word & Excel, internet, vendor portals, etc.
Ability to travel to branch offices on a regular basis, and as needed, to facilitate technical product knowledge
