Overview
Our client is seeking a dynamic Team Lead for their Toronto SME Commercial Risk Placement Unit. In this role, you will be a senior resource and mentor to the team, while managing a book of commercial clients. You will be responsible for recreating, securing and delivering high- quality insurance programs.
Compensation Range: $85,000 to $125,000 annually
Compensation is based on a full-time 35-hour work week and will be dependent upon the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. It includes variable commissions and potential performance-based bonus.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Active Senior Resource for Commercial SME Risk Placement Brokers
· Handle files escalations
· Participate in the development and growth of individual team members
· Effectively service a book of assigned commercial clients
· Work effectively with Sales and Senior Account Managers
· Complete coverage gap analysis
· Effective cross selling and up selling
· Negotiating valued insurance programs for our commercial clients
Qualifications Required
RIBO license, active and in good standing, is required
Minimum three years of commercial insurance brokerage experience
Minimum three years experience in a Team Lead position
Knowledge of specialty products and/or segment needs would be an asset (e.g. Cyber, D&O, E&O, etc.)
Other industry qualifications, such as CAIB, CIP, CRM, etc., would be considered an asset
Post-secondary education would be considered an asset

Sales-driven approach to account management, the ability to identify coverage gaps, and upsell/cross-sell
Strong analytical skills
Must be a team player and have a strong work ethic
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
Organized with effective time management skills
Self-directed and able to coordinate multiple placements for large multi-line accounts
Ability to use creativity in structuring product proposals and documentation
Advanced computer skills with experience in MS Office, EPIC, Applied Systems.
