Overview
This individual must:
1. Have advanced insurance knowledge in personal lines processes and procedures
2. Minimum 10 years insurance experience, with a minimum 3 years in a leadership role
3. Have professional verbal ,written and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to communicate professionally with insurance companies, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
4. Have strong and proven analytical problem solving skills, with the ability to make decisions and move forward with the work at hand
5. Have strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities
6. Be results-oriented, with the ability of using time and resources effectively
7. Stay abreast of industry trends and regulations, with ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving industry
8. Have advanced practical knowledge and proficient computer skills with EPIC Broker Management Software System
9. Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
10. Be capable of superior relationship building, be client oriented and dedicated to providing exemplary client service
11. Have strong organization and time management skills with demonstrated attention to detail
12. Have the ability to handle multiple, competing projects that are time sensitive
13. Be committed to professional development; RIBO license is preferred.
14. Candidate must have a strong understanding of RIBO rules and regulations and be familiar with best practices; other insurance industry designations would be considered an asset
15. Have the ability to develop others
16. Be able to travel as and when required

Responsible for:
1. Leading the division and ensure the personal insurance teams (High Net Worth and Retail) are supported in the delivery of products and customer experience
2. Fostering and mentoring leadership within the department, and overseeing the staff performance and professional growth
3. Monitoring and improving carrier relationships to ensure client growth, revenue and profitability, efficiency and client satisfaction
4. Communicating regularly with employees, in meetings and individually. Applying good listening and problem solving skills for employee complaints and concerns
5. Ensuring relationships are developed throughout the Personal Lines operations and retail teams
6. Working collaboratively with the Executive Operations Committee, to identify initiatives and opportunities, and the appropriate stream to deliver the results
7. Assisting in setting up sales and retention goals, as well as training in all offices
8. Working collaboratively with other executives to promote a strong culture of teamwork and operational support for the sales team; collaboration and teamwork with the executive is integral to the success of the position.
