Guidewire Product Owner – Job Description
As Guidewire Product Owner, you will leverage your experience in insurance and your expertise with Guidewire platforms and services to provide solutions to employees, brokers, and customers to achieve our strategic imperatives.
You will be accountable for the end-to-end Guidewire operations, including PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter and BillingCenter. You will work closely with our Managed Service Partner in the delivery of monthly releases, ongoing projects, and enhancements while ensuring that efficient processes and put in place and adhered to.

Product Expertise
Possesses and maintains a deep understanding of Guidewire’s capabilities and features
Stays apprised of product roadmaps for key applications and service providers, looking for opportunities to take advantage of new features
Finds opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and drive growth through an understanding of current and future Insurance Technology market offering
Shares knowledge and experience with Solutions Leads and Technical Leads to coordinate activities

Solution Design

Identifies immediate, short-term, and long-term business needs in collaboration with Solutions Leads
Coordinates Solutions Leads and Technical Leads in the identification of process improvements to improve outcomes
Where appropriate, develop a business case or cost benefit analysis to inform decision making with the Chief of People and Operations.
Develop, maintain, and share a regularly updated product roadmap that communicates key features, capabilities, and integrations with plans for short- and long-term
Employ knowledge of the organization and industry to explore and implement innovative solutions to enhance ease-of-use and productivity
Effectively triage current support tickets and establish an ongoing ticket prioritization process to improve speed of issue resolution

Release Management

Provide facilitation and direction for defining initiatives and releases, sizing features, and finalizing scope
Prioritize defects and assign to appropriate releases based on severity, impact, and urgency
Coordinate with Solutions Leads and Technical Leads to develop appropriate and strong requirements that meet the needs of the business
Ensures high quality output by facilitating the testing of updates, releases, and other new features by guiding the work of Solutions Leads and Technical Leads
Manage dependencies, sequencing, and scheduling of activities within a release
Provide acceptance of releases based on criteria for quality, requirements, documentation, and stakeholder approval

Vendor Management

Act as the prime point of communication and direction with key vendors to guide Projects, Service Requests, Defects, and Incidents
Manage vendor activities including service levels, defect resolution, service credits allocation, and SOW delivery
Work with service providers to capacity plan, coordinate development activities, and ensure performance meets service levels
Establish a communications tree with the vendor to ensure that areas of concern and questions can be addressed in a timely manner

Communications

Provide effective communication and status reporting, including details regarding releases and incidents by determining a cadence for regular updates
Communicate changes in features and processes to employees, brokers, customers, and service providers
Ensure post release success through reviews of the impact of new features and enhancements, including monitoring incidents and performance
Coordinate consistent communication between the Guidewire team and staff to maintain a thorough and mutual understanding of the platform, areas for improvement, current limitations, and expected timelines

Your experience

College diploma or University degree (Insurance or related discipline)
8+ years in relevant roles
Strong knowledge of functional solution design
Excellent knowledge of release and vendor management
Experience in Business Analysis and/or Product Management
Experience with Quality Assurance
Demonstrated strength in oral, written, and presentation communication skills
Experience managing a team, setting priorities, and project management
