Overview

 

Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

–          Assist and report to the Manager of Life and Group Insurance Department

–          Transacting all new business and renewal premium, as well as balance incoming commissions from insurance company deposits

–          Market risks to all group and individual carriers to obtain quotes

–          Prepare group renewals for advisor’s review

–          Coordinate and, if licenced, bind and service new and renewal  travel insurance policies

–          Attach, review, file and distribute, all incoming new business items and send to advisor for review

–          Fill the role as first point of contact for internal referrals

–          Perform data entry for Life, Travel, DI, CI, and Group applications

–          Back up for advisors when away on holidays – client calls, general inquiries

–          Back up for manager for general inquires when away from office

–          Distribute incoming leads as instructed by management

–          Follow up with markets on renewals, marketing, new business requests

–          General liaison to the insurance companies, as instructed by management and advisor

–          Miscellaneous tasks and projects as may assigned

Qualifications:

–          Minimum of 2 years insurance/administrative experience

–          RIBO and/or  Life Licence (including accident and sickness) would be considered an asset

Skills:

–          Must be a team player with a sound work ethic

–          A very strong attention to detail and a quick learner

–          Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

–          Proficiency in Word and Excel is required;  and experience with The Agency Manager (TAM) would be considered an asset
